12 tips for using Aloe Vera spray
What is Aloe Vera and what can it do?
Aloe vera , also known as the desert lily, has long been a popular medicinal plant. A gel can be extracted from the fleshy leaves. This gel is rich in vitamins and has regenerative, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is often used for burns because it cools and promotes healing. Aloe vera can also be used for other wounds. Since it relieves pain and, as a natural active ingredient, doesn't sting the injured skin, it is ideally suited for this purpose. Because of its many benefits, we wouldn't want to be without aloe vera in our skincare routine.
What makes the Aloe Vera Spray from colibri skincare special
Our Aloe Vera Spray also contains the active ingredients panthenol and bisabolol. Together, these three complement each other perfectly. Panthenol, with its moisturizing and wound-healing properties, ideally supports the effect of Aloe Vera on the skin. Bisabolol has an anti-inflammatory effect and soothes irritation and redness.
The best thing about aloe vera spray: It's suitable for all skin types and can be used anytime, even several times a day, as desired. This spray is a true all-rounder. We'll show you the various ways you can incorporate it into your routine or use it in between other activities.
toner
You can use the Aloe Vera spray as a moisturizing toner directly after your morning facial cleansing routine.
Simply spray onto your face from a distance of about 20-30 cm with your eyes closed. Extra tip: If you apply our Hyaluron Booster immediately afterwards and gently pat it in, the moisture will be better locked in and retained in the skin for longer.
Primer
You can also use the spray as a primer directly before applying your makeup. Again, close your eyes and spray from a distance of 20-30 cm. The fine spray prevents your makeup from settling into pores and fine lines after a while. This eliminates the need for a separate foundation. Combining it with the Hyaluron Booster is also recommended for this application, as hyaluronic acid effectively plumps wrinkles and helps retain the spray's moisture.
The brilliant thing about this application method is that your skin glows even before applying makeup, resulting in a more intense overall look. Makeup can unfortunately dry out the skin quickly. By giving it a moisture boost beforehand, you cleverly avoid this problem. Of course, it's still worthwhile to use a moisturizer after removing your makeup.
Fixing spray
Aloe vera spray can also be beneficial after applying makeup. You can spray a light mist on your face as usual (eyes closed, 20-30cm distance) after your makeup routine and use it as a setting spray. This will make your makeup last longer and look beautifully fresh.
After shaving
Aloe vera also helps with typical symptoms of razor burn, such as redness and small pustules. It soothes irritated skin and reduces redness. If you are prone to razor burn, simply apply a few pumps of the spray to the affected areas after shaving and gently massage it in.
Leave-in hair treatment
Especially in summer, our hair is often stressed due to dryness and sun exposure. Our Aloe Vera Spray can moisturize your hair throughout the day and give it a fresh feeling. Simply apply a few pumps to the entire length of your hair and then distribute the product further if necessary by brushing or combing through your hair. The number of pumps you need will vary depending on your hair length.
Since our Aloe Vera Spray is completely natural and non-sticky, you can use it like a regular leave-in conditioner; no rinsing is necessary. Depending on your preference, you can use it before or after styling. If needed, you can also reapply it throughout the day.
Hair masks
In combination with our jojoba oil, the spray also makes a great hair mask. To mix your own hair mask, add a few drops of your favorite oil to 1-2 tablespoons of aloe vera spray and stir well. Stirring won't dissolve the oil completely, but it will help distribute it more evenly. Then, apply the mixture to your scalp with your fingertips and massage it in. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and rinse it out.
Aloe vera, combined with jojoba oil , works very well against itching and dandruff on the scalp.
Hair care for split ends and lengths
Spraying a few pumps of aloe vera spray into damp hair after washing makes it easier to comb and softer. Especially in summer, this can give your hair extra moisture and a fresh look.
After-sun
When sunbathing in summer, our skin loses a lot of water and suffers minor structural damage. The most obvious contributing factors are UV rays and heat. But other external influences also take their toll on the skin when sunbathing. Whether at an outdoor pool or on the beach, both chlorinated and salt water can easily dry out the skin. The environment itself also has an impact; sand on beaches or even a gentle breeze isn't good for the skin in the long run. Finally, significant water loss also occurs through sweating. However, this doesn't mean you have to avoid the sun altogether. A good sun protection factor should provide adequate protection. To compensate for the water loss, good after-sun care is also essential. Our Aloe Vera Spray, with its intensive moisturizing effect, is perfect for this.
The sooner you apply your after-sun lotion after sunbathing, the better it is for your skin. A maximum of two hours should pass between application and after-sun lotion. To allow the product to absorb better and work more effectively, you should first cleanse your skin, for example with a cleanser , to ensure all traces of sweat and sunscreen are removed. Then you can apply the aloe vera spray. Bonus tip: If you store the spray in the refrigerator, it will also provide a pleasant cooling sensation after sunbathing.
For extra moisture, we recommend applying our Hyaluron Booster or Calming Moisturizer afterward. The hyaluronic acid in both products helps the skin retain moisture for longer. The Niacinamide Booster is also highly recommended. Thanks to the niacinamide it contains, the skin recovers more quickly from damage. This product is also rich in ceramides, which strengthen the skin's protective barrier. Because of the antioxidants in vitamins C and E, it's also worth combining your after-sun care with our Vitamin C Booster or Jojoba Oil. The best thing about this selection of products: they are all compatible, so you can easily mix and match them as you like.
With a good after-sun routine, your tan will last longer and you can enjoy your sunny complexion for longer.
Against sunburn
Spending too long in the sun, forgetting to reapply sunscreen, missing a spot while applying it… Despite all precautions, it's easy to get sunburned in the summer. Depending on individual susceptibility, sunburn can range from mild redness to severe pain in the affected areas and can therefore be truly unpleasant. Aloe vera can be your savior in this situation and provide excellent immediate relief.
Sunburned skin is essentially a combination of very dry and damaged skin. Aloe vera is perfect for this, as it provides ample moisture and accelerates healing. You can spray the aloe vera spray on sunburned skin as needed. The amount of care the damaged skin requires, as well as the intensity of the sunburn, varies greatly from person to person. Therefore, it's best to simply rely on your own judgment when determining the dosage. We also highly recommend storing the spray in the refrigerator for treating sunburned skin.
Refreshing spray
It's a hot summer day, you've spent a lot of time in the sun, and your skin desperately needs some moisture and refreshment? The Aloe Vera Spray is your little helper for summer. Simply spray the chilled spray on your body and enjoy the soothing cooling effect. You can also treat yourself to a cool drink while you're at it, because staying hydrated is essential for maintaining your skin's moisture balance.
Treatment for dry skin
Because the active ingredient complex in our Aloe Vera Spray provides so much moisture, it's especially helpful for dry and flaky skin. Dry skin is often quite sensitive, so the soothing effect of Aloe Vera is particularly beneficial. To protect your skin, gently massage the spray in after application.
Here too, we recommend combining it with products containing hyaluronic acid, such as our Hyaluron Booster and Calming Moisturizer. Applied after the spray, these two products effectively help to retain moisture.
Treatment of redness and irritation
Finally, we can also recommend aloe vera for treating acute problems with redness and irritation. Thanks to the active ingredient bisabolol, our aloe vera spray is particularly effective at soothing skin affected by inflammation, irritation, and redness. It also relieves any itching and reduces redness. Even with irritated skin, you should be especially gentle and pat the product softly into the affected areas after spraying. For added support, you can use our Barrier Booster for irritation and our Brightening Booster for redness.
We hope we have shown you how versatile our Aloe Vera Spray is and why it is the ideal summer product.
