Hyaluronic acid - the ingredient

Everyone hypes it - but what's behind this substance and why is it so popular? Hyaluronic acid is the ingredient when talking about facial care and skin rejuvenation measures. An absolute advantage of the trendsetter briefly in advance:
Hyaluron, also called Hyaluronan, is not a foreign substance for the human body! It is a natural component of the body, as it occurs in cartilage and joint fluid and is responsible for an optimal musculoskeletal system. In addition, hyaluronic acid is a large component of our skin, dermis and eye. This miracle substance has been established in medicine for a long time. As soon as, for example, a knee joint is no longer surrounded by sufficient cartilage mass, i.e. the said hyaluronic acid, wear and tear of the joint occurs, which favors the development of arthrosis. The external supply of the degraded hyaluronic acid can act like a lubricant and significantly improve the well-being. So we are not surprised that the popular active ingredient can also do all kinds of good for our skin. Did you know that 1 gram of hyaluronic acid can bind up to 6000 ml of water? It thus helps the skin to retain its elasticity. Optimal to protect it from the first signs of age - the "evil" wrinkles - and to supply it with what it already knows and loves (hyaluronic acid).

Hyaluronic acid on the skin - how exactly does it work?

The application of hylauronan on the skin, unlike its application in medicine, has a purely aesthetic background. Young skin is still particularly rich in hyaluronic acid and therefore even, smooth and plump. However, the skin's own production of the body's own substance slowly decreases from the age of 25. As a result, the skin is deprived of essential moisture from this point on and its volume and consequently its elasticity are also minimized. This can lead to the first wrinkles or fine lines on the face. In this case, hyaluronic concentrates or serums are the be-all and end-all in combating or preventing these annoying, first signs of aging.

In the formulas of hyaluronic products, a distinction is made between high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acids. The low-molecular version is responsible for storing moisture in the deeper layers of the skin and is therefore important for the long-term effect. As a result, the skin appears lastingly plumper and better cared for. The high-molecular hyaluronic acid, on the other hand, is superficially strong and even has an anti-inflammatory effect.

When buying your selected product, make sure that both formulas are included. The combination makes all the difference. It is also important to use the serum or concentrate regularly, preferably daily, to see the first positive results.

Our hyaluronic concentrate from colibri cosmetics is vegan and free of hormones or other questionable ingredients - of course also without animal testing! It contains both high and low molecular hyaluronic acid and therefore unfolds its firming effect in different skin layers. Urea and glycerin have an additional moisture-binding effect and reduce the skin's own water loss. They penetrate particularly deeply into the skin, increase its elasticity and additionally protect it from dehydration - for a younger and fresher complexion!
