Products with AHA acids
AHAs (also called fruit acids or alpha-hydroxycarboxylic acids) gently remove the top layer of keratinized skin cells. This gives the complexion a more even appearance. The best-known AHAs are glycolic and lactic acids, which are considered humectants because they stop transepidermal water loss, i.e. the constant release of water through the skin. This prevents the skin from drying out and leaves it glowing.
